Taj Mahal
This picture gives only a glimpse of the beauty of this building.
This monument was build in the 17th century by Shah Jahan in memory of
his wife Mumtaz Mahal. This building alone justifies a trip to India!

On Friday the entrance to the Taj Mahal is free.
So each Friday the Taj is crowded by beautiful dressed Indian families.

Tea is a very common beverage; on the streets you can buy it everywhere.
Such small shops look a little dingy, but drinks and food are often excellent.

The Hindu festival Holi. Picture taken in New Delhi.
During Holi people are marking the end of winter by throwing coloured water
and powder at another (including me, while taking this picture...)

Monkey at the Amber palace near Jaipur.
Monkeys wander around in many cities of India and have a habit of steeling
bags and food. Cheeky but beautiful animals.

Jaisalmer is a desert fortress straigth out of the Tales of the Arabian Nights.
Close to the Pakistan borders it has an Arabic instead of a Hindu atmosphere.

Varanasi is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in India. 25 centuries ago
Buddha preached his first message of enlightenment near Varanasi.

Dr. Prem Swarup Garg studied medicine in The Netherlands.
During that period he lived in the town Abcoude near Amsterdam.
It's a small world.
